Arnold Howard
Arnold Howard was held in the jail at Del Norte, according to a Denver dispatch, though another report places the jail at Del Rio. On the night of Saturday, March 4, 1882, about one hundred masked men, described as stockmen, rode up to the jail, ordered the guards to throw up their hands, and opened fire. Howard was killed outright, and the dispatch said his body was thrown into the river. Frank Young, also held there, was reported mortally wounded.
