Armand Jermel Mungo, 29, died on December 2, 2019, while held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center in Darlington, South Carolina, according to records compiled by Incarceration Transparency. Those records say the State Law Enforcement Division was still investigating his death. A January 2020 WCIV report quoted Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee as saying a 29-year-old person held at the jail died in December 2019 of natural causes, but that report did not name the person, so it is unclear whether it refers to Mr. Mungo.
