Arista Hunt
Arista Hunt, 43, died on December 26, 2024, after corrections officers found him unresponsive in his cell at the Iosco County Jail in Michigan. He had been taken to MyMichigan Medical Center in Tawas on December 24 for a seizure that a prosecutor's report linked to drug withdrawal. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death a fentanyl and methamphetamine overdose and said drinking his own urine was a contributing factor, but could not determine the manner of death. The prosecutor's report, based on the autopsy, attributed his death to an opioid overdose and said jail staff acted appropriately, and Tawas City police have been investigating.
