April Stamps
April Stamps, 55, of Altoona, was found dead in her cell at the Blair County Prison on January 2, 2026, shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to WJAC. The Blair County coroner's office investigated, with the Hollidaysburg Police Department assisting. Coroner Ray Benton later said an autopsy found she died from a combination of prescription medication and illicit drugs and that she had pre-existing medical conditions. The toxicology report has not been released.
