Anthony Sowell
Anthony Sowell, 61, was a former Marine, according to his defense attorney, John Parker, who said Sowell had endured a brutal childhood and serious mental health problems. Sowell was held at Chillicothe Correctional Institution in Ohio and died on February 8, 2021, while receiving end-of-life care for a terminal illness at Franklin Medical Center. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said his death was not related to COVID-19. Parker said of him, 'He was not a monster and not evil.'
