Anthony Pinchbeck
Anthony Pinchbeck, 52, died on March 7, 2025, four days after arriving at Sampson Correctional Institution in North Carolina. His mother, Donnie Parker, said she was told by the warden that he had died in a hospital, but that the hospital had no record of him, and that the warden gave her several different accounts of how he died. She described him as cheerful and looking forward to coming home, and said he was not sick before his death. The medical examiner, Dr. Carl Barr, found cardiac arrest from coronary artery disease and synthetic marijuana in his system, but could not say when or where the drug was taken, and the State Bureau of Investigation is investigating.
