Anthony Huff
Anthony Huff, 58, died on June 8, 2016, after being held in a restraint chair for more than 55 hours at the Garfield County jail in Enid, Oklahoma. His brother, James Graham of Enid, filed a federal negligence lawsuit on behalf of the estate, which lists Huff as an heir along with another brother and a sister. The family's lawsuit and court records say he was left in the chair without adequate food, water or medical treatment, and that he was denied care for hallucinations. The county's medical examiner listed chronic alcoholism and its effects as the cause of death and ruled it natural. In 2019 Garfield County agreed to pay $12.5 million to settle the suit, and several jail officials pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter.
