Anthony Griego
Anthony Griego, 47, died in the early hours of May 20, 2020, while held at the Weld County Jail in Colorado. Civil-rights attorneys suing Sheriff Steve Reams say he died of COVID-19 and that the jail failed to protect medically vulnerable people held there. The sheriff's office has said it cannot yet say whether COVID-19 caused the death, and a critical incident team is investigating. Before he died, Griego had been taken to a hospital and tested for the virus.
