Anthony Grant
Grant, a Black man, was one of three people held in the jail at Brookhaven, Mississippi, according to an 1874 Smyrna Times report. The paper says a crowd it estimated at one thousand citizens took the three men from the jail on the evening of Saturday, August 22, and hanged them.
