Anthony Boyd-Foard
Anthony Boyd-Foard, 35, died on February 22, 2024, at the Lucas County Jail in Toledo, Ohio, about a day and a half after he was booked. He had been treated at a hospital for kidney and lung problems, and his mother, Yavonda Boyd, said he needed oxygen and had only about 80% of his lung function; she said she brought his medication to the jail. The Lucas County Sheriff said jail medical staff checked on him every 30 minutes and found him unresponsive at mealtime, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called in along with an internal jail review. His mother says he had left the hospital against medical advice and that the jail let her son die.
