Anthony Bell, 64, died on October 22, 2020, at the prison hospital at the Mississippi State Penitentiary, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, which announced the death. A second report said he was pronounced dead on a Thursday afternoon that month. The cause and manner of his death were pending an autopsy at the time of reporting.
