Angelica Marie Thayer
Angelica Marie Thayer, 50, of Shelby, North Carolina, was found hanging in her cell at the Cherokee County Detention Center in South Carolina on the morning of April 8, 2023. Officers cut her down and called EMS, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cherokee County Coroner's Office is investigating the death and has said an autopsy is planned. The manner of death had not been determined in the reports reviewed.
