Andy Kaigler, a Black man, was held in custody at Gaston, South Carolina, when a mob took him and killed him on July 30, 1893, according to The Ohio Democrat, which published the report on August 19 of that year. The paper says the mob met him with the same fate as Will Thompson, who was killed the same day.
