Andrew Witt
Andrew Witt, 45, was in the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center's Community Custody Program and was staying at a halfway house in Albuquerque. On Saturday, April 11, 2026, staff found him unresponsive and notified detention center officials, and emergency responders were unable to revive him. The Metropolitan Detention Center said the cause and manner of his death are pending, and the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator will make that determination. Local police and the detention center's Office of Professional Standards have opened reviews.
