Andrew Michael Helms
Andrew Michael Helms, 19, was a native of Charlotte. He died in the New Hanover County Jail in Wilmington early on Saturday, March 22, 2008, when deputies found him unresponsive near his bed. Sheriff's deputies said it appeared he had hanged himself with his bed sheet. The district attorney said a State Bureau of Investigation inquiry was underway.
