Andrew McCloud

Andrew McCloud was held in the jail at Bastrop, Louisiana, according to a list compiled by the International Labor Defense. The list says a mob of about 300 people, organized by a Ku Klux Klan gang, took him from the jail and killed him on July 9, 1934. The list says the sheriff and police chief were out of town at the time.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The International Labor Defense says a Ku Klux Klan gang organized a mob of about 300 that took McCloud from the Bastrop jail while the sheriff and police chief were reported out of town.
