Andrew Mark "Tubby" Harris
Sheriff Kevin Bridger said Andrew Mark "Tubby" Harris of Grand Saline would be greatly missed by his friends and family. Harris was in the custody of the Van Zandt County jail and was working with a road repair crew on May 12, 2025, when the Sheriff's Office said he suffered a medical emergency on the side of a highway. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. A Texas Office of the Attorney General custodial death report lists the death as occurring at the Van Zandt County Jail, a location that differs from the Sheriff's Office account. The cause of death has not been released, and the Texas Rangers are investigating.
