Andrew Latron Haffert Jr.
Andrew Haffert, 31, died on April 29, 2019, while held at the Nacogdoches County Jail in Texas. According to the sheriff's office custodial death report, jailers and deputies restrained him, and he had a medical emergency during the restraint, when staff could not tell whether he was breathing. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The autopsy results and manner of death remain pending, and the Texas Rangers, at the sheriff's request, and the sheriff's office internal review are ongoing.
