Anderson Brown

Anderson Brown, a Black man, was executed by the state of North Carolina at Salisbury. The Cape Girardeau Democrat, in a report published August 3, 1895, said about 5,000 people were present for the execution. The execution was carried out under state authority, and the paper's account of the crowd is the only detail given about the event.
