Amy Owenby
Amy Owenby was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility in North Carolina on August 24, 2026. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said deputies saw signs of medical distress and took her to Mission Hospital that evening. She was released on bond while still hospitalized and died there on August 31. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent review of the circumstances of her death, and the cause and manner of death have not been determined.
