Amanda Howard
Amanda Howard, 33, died while held at the Duval County jail in Jacksonville, Florida. The Florida Trib reported that the cause of death was diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication that can develop when a person with Type 1 diabetes does not receive insulin. Armor Correctional Health Services, which provided health care at the jail, declined to comment on Howard's case.
