Amanda Hogan Ray
Amanda Hogan Ray, 28, was held at the Carteret County Jail in North Carolina. The Carteret County Sheriff's Office said she was found attempting suicide by hanging in her cell on Dec. 1, 2015, and was treated at the jail before being taken to Carteret Health Care and then Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She died there on Dec. 7, 2015. The sheriff's office describes her death as a suicide, and the State Bureau of Investigation is looking into it.
