Executed
Allen Nicklasson
Missouri executed Allen Nicklasson, 41, by injection of pentobarbital late on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, eight minutes after the drug was started. He grew up in Kansas City in a fatherless home and lived with bipolar disorder, and in his final prayers he spoke briefly with the prison chaplain. A federal appeals panel had stayed the execution, but the US Supreme Court vacated the stay 5-4, and Governor Jay Nixon declined clemency. No family members from either side attended, according to the reporting.
