Allen Barton, 59, was held at Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore, Alabama, and was terminally ill. In June 2020 he was taken to a local hospital, where he tested positive for COVID-19. He died there on June 23, 2020. The Alabama Department of Corrections reported his death as related to COVID-19.
