Allan F. Tucker II

32 years old · died August 15, 2025 · Alexandria Adult Detention Center, Alexandria city County, Virginia

Allan F. Tucker II, 32, cared for his father, who uses a wheelchair, and his family describes him as a proud Crossroads native and a steady presence for his uncles, friends and mentees. Alexandria police arrested him at an apartment complex on North Beauregard Street on August 15, 2025, and he was held in the back of a police cruiser in the sallyport of the Alexandria jail for roughly 35 to 45 minutes during a shift change. An independent policing auditor found that officers ignored his repeated requests to be taken to a hospital and that he never received a nurse's medical screening before intake. The Sheriff's Office said its internal review found no policy violations but has not released that review, and the medical examiner attributed his death to cocaine and cocaethylene intoxication and ruled it accidental. The Commonwealth's Attorney declined to file criminal charges against the officers, which his family disputes as they press for accountability, and a city review board sent the auditor's investigation back as incomplete in July 2026.

Cause of death, as reported: Died of an overdose (disputed; neglect alleged). The medical examiner ruled cocaine and cocaethylene intoxication an accident, while his family says his injuries happened in the police cruiser, and an independent auditor found officers ignored his requests to go to a hospital.

Reported by: Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (medical examiner or coroner); Alexandria Police Department (the agency that held him); Tucker's family (family or their lawyers).
