Alfredo Almeida Ramirez died on November 16, 2022, while held at the Hall County Department of Corrections in Nebraska. In February 2023, a Hall County grand jury was convened to examine the circumstances of his death, and special prosecutors presented evidence to it. The grand jury returned a No True Bill, finding that no individual committed criminal conduct in connection with his death. It also issued a report with recommendations, which was filed with the district court clerk.
