Alexander Beirne
Alexander Beirne, 38, of Ojai, was held at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, a jail in Ventura County, California. On August 30, 2019, deputies found him having a medical emergency in his cell. Jail medical staff treated him before paramedics took him to Community Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office attributed his death to methamphetamine intoxication, and the sheriff's office says another person held at the jail smuggled the drug in and gave it to him, a claim that has not been established.
