Alex Wesley Tripp
Alex Wesley Tripp was 32 years old when he died by hanging at Riverside Regional Jail in Virginia on October 31, 2017, less than 24 hours after he was booked there. According to an investigation, jail staff did not check the housing tier where he was held for nearly four hours before he was found, although policy required checks at least twice an hour. The same investigation found that a jail officer falsified log entries to make it appear the checks had been done on time.
