Albert F. Bomberger was executed by hanging on January 19, 1894, on a scaffold in a farm field about a mile north of the Cando city limits in Towner County, North Dakota. Fear of a lynching in Cando led to his being held for a time in the Grand Forks County jail before the execution. He was buried in the local cemetery.
