Ada LeBoeuf

Louisiana

Ada LeBoeuf was executed by hanging in Louisiana after a case that drew national headlines in 1927. A 2014 NOLA.com article reports that a public plea to Governor Huey P. Long for clemency did not stop her execution. For decades the case faded from public memory until historian Pam Heffner led efforts to reprint a 2000 book about it. Librarian Fran Middleton has spent years researching the case.
