Abbas Amir Gheshlaghi was a 27-year-old man from Shazand County who lived in Arak. According to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, he was executed at dawn on September 30, 2026, at Arak Central Prison. Hengaw says officials demanded one billion tomans from his family to call off the execution, and the family could not pay. Hengaw also says his family was left in financial hardship. Hengaw says Iran's state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets did not announce the execution.
