Aaron Michael Wheaton
Aaron Wheaton died on August 8, 2019, at the Roanoke City Jail, where he had been held for four days. The Roanoke City Sheriff's Office said deputies found him hanging in his cell and described the death as an apparent suicide, while the investigation into the death remained open. One report said it was the second suicide at the jail that year and the seventh in four or five years, and that 14 other people had attempted suicide there in the previous six months.
