A Soundarapandian was a writer who wrote scripts for several films and ran a television production house in Madurai. He was held at Madurai Central Prison and had been a diabetic patient who was admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital earlier. He was brought back to the hospital with chest pain, slipped into a coma, and died early on June 11, 2018, with the cause given as ill health.
