A.D. Mills, 42, was held at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman when he died overnight on January 8, 2020. He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight at Merit Health Hospital in Clarksdale, according to WLBT and WAPT. A chaplain at the prison notified the Sunflower County coroner, and Coahoma County Coroner Scotty Meredith said the death was from natural causes and not a homicide. Mills was in state custody when he died.
