Wes Allen Bracht
Wes Alan Bracht, 44, died on January 14, 2022, in Palestine Regional Medical Center after being held at the Michael Unit, a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison in Anderson County. According to TDCJ, he was found on the floor of his cell on January 13 with severe head injuries and taken to the unit medical facility before EMS transported him to the hospital. TDCJ says another incarcerated man attacked him, an allegation the reporting presents as unconfirmed, and the agency's custodial death report lists the manner of death as homicide. The Office of Inspector General was notified.
