Vincent
Vincent was 21 years old, and his mother asked everyone to remember his smile. In 2009 police chased him, tased him, and took him into custody in Sumiton, Alabama; his parents say he walked into the Sumiton jail but was paralyzed when he left it. He was moved to the Walker County Jail, where he died almost a week later, in October 2009. He told his parents that officers had beaten and tased him, another person held at the jail later wrote that he had begged for help, and the FBI opened an investigation; no official explanation of his death has been made public.
