A 30-year-old man died at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas, California, on December 17, 2024. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said he was found unresponsive in his cell that Tuesday evening, and fire and medical staff took him to a local hospital, where he died about an hour later. The sheriff's office said preliminary findings showed no signs of foul play, and it, the medical examiner, the coroner and the district attorney are investigating the death. The cause of death has not been announced.
