A 36-year-old man was found not breathing in his cell at the Kitsap County Jail in Washington on March 27, 2026, during a routine check around 5:00 a.m., according to KIRO 7 News. Jail medical staff and corrections officers began CPR until South Kitsap Fire and Rescue arrived, and responders pronounced him dead. The Port Orchard Police Department is conducting an independent investigation, and the Kitsap County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, which are pending.
