A man in his 60s with serious underlying medical conditions died of COVID-19 on April 27, 2020, while held at Jessup Correctional Institution in Maryland. He had been hospitalized since April 13. The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services announced the death as the second COVID-19 death in the state's prison system and the second at Jessup.
