A person held at the Okaloosa County Jail in Florida was found dead there on January 22, 2023, according to WKRG, and the sheriff's office said it is investigating and will release more details when that work is complete. No cause or manner of death has been announced. A WKRG report published January 24, 2023 also lists a death at the same jail on January 17, 2023 among five the sheriff's office is investigating there over four months.
