A 25-year-old man from Bountiful died at the Davis County Jail over the weekend of June 20 and 21, 2020. Sheriff Kelly Sparks said the jail followed all of its protocols, including newer ones, and that the man had a nurse screening and mental health services after he arrived. The sheriff said the man died by suicide. The county has faced wrongful death lawsuits from two other families and has seen other deaths at the jail since 2016.
