A man, 47, died on September 15, 2024, after being held at the Old Colony Correctional Center in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Staff responded to a reported medical emergency in his cell, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A Massachusetts Department of Corrections spokesperson said his wounds appeared to come from an assault involving another person held at the facility, and the death is under investigation. His name has not been released.
