Two people from Washington, D.C., died at the United States Penitentiary, Pollock, a federal prison in Grant Parish, Louisiana, according to a report published in September 2022. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton wrote in a letter that the two were killed. She wrote that other D.C. residents held at the facility had been attacked, apparently because they are from D.C. She asked the Bureau of Prisons to move D.C. residents out of the prison.
