Three men held at the jail in Brenham, Texas, were taken from the building by a mob and hanged, according to a brief item in The Weekly Sentinel published December 9, 1886. The item gives no names for the men and no exact date of death. It also gives no account of how the mob got into the jail, nor of whether the jailers resisted or handed the men over.
