A person held at Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina, died in April 2017 in one of four killings at the prison that the Post and Courier reported. The newspaper reported that two other people held there lured them into a cell and attacked them. The reported cause of death was strangulation and stabbing.
