A 47-year-old woman died on July 24, 2025, while held at the El Paso County Jail in Colorado. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said she was found unresponsive in her cell in the evening. The sheriff's office said it has opened an investigation and requested an autopsy, and that it has seen no sign of self-harm, assault, or foul play so far.
