A man who used a wheelchair died in August 2019 after being held at the Oklahoma County jail in Oklahoma City. He was found unresponsive in his cell and taken to a hospital by ambulance, where he died later. A Oklahoma State Department of Health jail inspection report lists blunt force trauma to the cervical spine as the cause of death, and says staff had been unable to move him to a cell with camera monitoring before he was found. The sheriff's office said it is investigating his death.
