A man, 52, died on April 9, 2020, at Cook County Jail, in the custody of the Cook County Sheriff's Office. The death was reported to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, which does not publish the names of the people who died. The Cook County Sheriff's Office reported the manner of death as natural causes. Its report says: “Pneumonia due to COVID19 viral infection. Hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes mellitus contributing.”
