Name not reported
A Black man held in the jail at Blandville, Kentucky, was taken from his cell by a mob of about seventy-five men on a Sunday night in November 1872, according to a Mayfield Democrat report reprinted in The Weekly Clarion. The men demanded the keys, and the jailor at first refused before the mob forced a door; the jailor then gave up the keys. The mob carried the man to the edge of town and hanged him from a tree. The paper's account is the only source, and the man's name is not given.
