Died in jail or a lockup
Name not reported
Four Black people held at the jail in Russellville, Kentucky, were taken from it by a mob in July 1908 and hanged from a tree at the edge of town. The jail held them, and the mob took them from its custody and killed them. The 1908 account describes the lynching as orderly and says no shots were fired; it is the paper's own description, and the names of the four are not recorded in this account.
